Seiken Chudan Uchi Uke
Seiken Chudan Uchi Uke is a blocking technique used in Kyokushin karate. It translates to 'Forefist Inside Block.' In this technique, the practitioner uses the forearm and fist of the lead arm to execute an inward block aimed at intercepting or deflecting an incoming attack targeting the midsection (chudan). Seiken Chudan Uchi Uke is effective for defending against strikes such as punches or kicks directed at the torso. The block is executed with speed and precision, with the forearm positioned to intercept the opponent's limb while the fist provides additional reinforcement. Proper execution of this technique involves maintaining a stable stance, chambering the blocking arm close to the body, and rotating the forearm inward to absorb the impact of the attack. Practitioners train in Seiken Chudan Uchi Uke to develop defensive skills, timing, and the ability to counterattack effectively after blocking.
