Kokutsu Dachi
Kokutsu Dachi is a stance in Shotokan karate. It translates to 'Back Stance.' This stance involves stepping back with one leg while bending the front leg deeply, creating a long and low stance. The majority of the weight is on the back leg, providing stability and enabling the practitioner to generate power for defensive and counter techniques. Kokutsu Dachi is often used for evasive maneuvers and to create distance from an opponent in Shotokan karate.
