Zen Kutsu Dachi

Zen Kutsu Dachi is a stance in Shotokan karate. It translates to 'Forward Stance.' This stance involves stepping forward with one leg while keeping the other leg extended behind, creating a long and deep stance. The front knee is bent, and the majority of the body weight is shifted to the front leg, providing stability and allowing the practitioner to generate power in forward-moving techniques. Zen Kutsu Dachi is commonly used for offensive maneuvers, such as punching and kicking, in Shotokan karate.
