Hachiji Dachi

Hachiji Dachi, also known as 'Natural Stance,' is a fundamental stance in Shotokan karate. In this stance, the feet are placed shoulder-width apart with the toes pointing slightly outward, forming a natural and relaxed posture. The knees are slightly bent to allow for flexibility and quick movement. The body weight is evenly distributed over both feet, and the arms hang loosely at the sides. Hachiji Dachi is commonly used as a starting position for many techniques and katas, serving as a neutral and ready stance that allows for swift transitions into more specific stances and movements.
