後ろ蹴り

Ushiro Geri

Ushiro Geri, or 'Back Kick,' is a powerful kicking technique in Shotokan Karate. This technique involves delivering a forceful kick to an opponent or target located behind the practitioner. To execute Ushiro Geri, the practitioner begins by shifting their weight onto the supporting leg and turning their head to look over their shoulder to visually locate the target. The kicking leg is then lifted, with the knee bending as it comes up towards the chest. The hips pivot sharply, and the kicking leg is thrust backward in a straight line, extending fully to strike with the heel. The heel is the point of impact, aiming to deliver maximum force to the target, which could be at midsection or head height. After the kick, the leg is quickly retracted and brought back to a stable stance, maintaining balance and readiness for the next move. Ushiro Geri emphasizes precision, power, and speed, making it an effective technique for counter-attacks and creating distance from an opponent.
